Deliver Climate Action

Implement practical initiatives that reduce emissions, build resilience and support an effective climate transition.

In this stage, we help organisations turn strategy into climate action. We support the implementation of initiatives that build resilience, reduce emissions and respond to climate-related risks and opportunities.  This includes decarbonisation, renewable electricity procurement and translating complex climate and regulatory requirements into practical actions.

Clean Energy Procurement

We support organisations to procure clean energy in a way that aligns with their operational requirements, commercial objectives, and organisational structure. Our experience spans onsite and offsite power purchase agreements (PPAs), including virtual and direct PPAs, bundled green energy supply agreements, unbundled Large-scale Generation Certificates (LGCs) and Guarantees of Origin (GOs), as well as Group PPAs.

Our team helps organisations navigate contractual arrangements, financial modelling, project risks, and sustainability outcomes to support informed procurement decisions. We also provide advice on financial exposure and reporting considerations, including mark-to-market derivative accounting requirements.

Energy Transition & Electrification

Our team identifies and delivers high-priority fuel transition and electrification projects across vehicle fleets, manufacturing facilities, industrial assets, and mobile plant and equipment.

We undertake detailed feasibility assessments to evaluate opportunities, risks, and implementation pathways, building business cases for transitioning from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources. We then support implementation by coordinating delivery partners, identifying funding opportunities, managing procurement processes, and optimising asset performance to deliver lasting operational, environmental, and commercial outcomes.

Onsite Renewable Energy Systems & Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

We support the design and procurement of onsite renewable energy and battery storage systems (BESS) that integrate with existing operations and infrastructure. Our approach helps organisations reduce emissions and improve energy performance while supporting long-term operational and commercial outcomes.

Demand Side Response Programs

We help organisations understand energy market dynamics and develop demand-side response programs that maximise the value of battery energy storage systems (BESS) and electrified processes. Our services include program design, procurement support and ongoing optimisation to improve performance and commercial outcomes.

Carbon Credits (Carbon Offsetting)

We support organisations in procuring carbon market products, including Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs), through our sister company Viridios Capital. We provide sourcing, portfolio management, and hedging strategies to help organisations manage carbon market exposure and meet their climate objectives.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you support carbon credit procurement?

Yes. Alongside our sister company, Viridios Capital, we support organisations across the full carbon credit lifecycle, including procurement, registry management, transfer, retirement, trading, valuation and reporting. This helps organisations meet compliance obligations under schemes such as the Safeguard Mechanism, as well as broader voluntary climate and sustainability commitments.

For voluntary offsetting, including Climate Active certification, Pangolin can support the procurement of high-integrity carbon credits, including Verra and Gold Standard units. Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) and compliance market transactions are managed through Viridios Capital.

What is a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)?

A Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) is a long-term agreement between an energy buyer and either an electricity retailer or independent power producer for the supply of electricity.

PPAs provide organisations with long-term price visibility and can offer an alternative or supplement to traditional retail contracts. They also enable businesses to procure electricity from renewable energy projects, often at more competitive and stable pricing than standard market rates. If structure with a new asset, they can provide “additionality” which means the organisation can claim that they are contributing to the additional investment in new renewable energy resources to the grid.

What is a BESS?

A Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) stores electricity generated from sources such as solar, wind, and the electricity grid for later use.

The key benefits of a BESS include increasing the use of renewable energy beyond daylight hours, reducing reliance on the grid, enhancing grid stability, and improving energy resilience by providing backup power during outages. When properly designed, a BESS can also reduce connection costs and help avoid costly network capacity upgrades.

We support organisations in designing and procuring on-site energy systems that integrate with existing facilities to optimise energy use, improve resilience, and reduce emissions.
