Nicholas brings nearly 30 years' experience helping organisations across the public and private sectors understand and respond to sustainability, climate and resilience challenges. He specialises in climate risk assessment and adaptation planning, spanning physical and transition risk, scenario analysis, resilience planning and regulatory alignment. With a practical focus, he helps organisations turn risk assessment into proportionate responses they can act on, rather than treating climate risk as a reporting exercise. He is particularly interested in how climate risks cascade through systems, affecting assets, operations, communities and nature.

His experience runs from buildings to major projects, across planning, utilities, transport, aviation, government and property, and spans Australia, New Zealand, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. This gives him a practical understanding of how climate risk intersects with design, operations, investment and long-term decision-making. He works comfortably across technical, executive and stakeholder groups to develop responses that can genuinely be implemented.

Nicholas takes a systems-based approach, informed by the role that nature plays in underpinning resilient communities and economies. His perspective is shaped by his work as a volunteer firefighter with the Country Fire Authority in Victoria, giving him direct insight into the community-level impacts of climate, disaster risk and resilience. He is especially interested in approaches that connect climate adaptation, biodiversity and regenerative outcomes to help communities thrive in a climate-affected future. He is a Chartered Engineer and holds an MSc in Sustainable Development.
